With the heat wave continuing, The Salvation Army is seeking donations of fans that can be distributed to the city’s needy.

“We would like to let the community know that there is a great need for fans to be distributed to the elderly, those with illness and families with young children,” said Cindi Francis, of the Salvation Army.

Francis said donated fans may be brought to The Salvation Army, 946 N.H., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Also we would like to mention that if anyone needs a fan, they can call The Salvation Army at 843-4188,” Francis said. “We have already started a list, and their name and phone number will be added to that list. When the fans are received, we will start calling from the top of the list. If they cannot pick up a fan, we will deliver one to them.”
