More than 200 opt for advance voting

More than 200 people have taken advantage of advance voting for the Aug. 1 primary election since it began July 12, according to the Douglas County Clerk’s office.

As of Tuesday, 126 people had cast ballots by coming to the courthouse, elections clerk Keith Campbell said.

In addition, another 81 advance ballots had been received by mail. A total of 636 ballots have been mailed, Campbell said.

Advance voting can be done between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the clerk’s office in the courthouse, 1100 Mass., Monday through Friday. The office also will be open from 9 a.m. to noon July 29, the last day for advance voting.
