Nearly 180 voters cast ballots

Primary election set for Aug. 1

Nearly 180 people have taken advantage of advance voting opportunities since it began last Wednesday, according to the Douglas County Clerk’s office.

As of 11:30 a.m. today, 98 people had cast their ballots in advance of the Aug. 1 primary by coming to the courthouse, elections clerk Keith Campbell said.

In addition, another 81 advance ballots had been received by mail. A total of 636 ballots have been mailed out, Campbell said.

Advance voting can be conducted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the clerk’s office of the courthouse, 1100 Mass., Monday through Friday. The office will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 29, the last day for advance voting.
