Kind words
To the editor:
Regarding our attitudes toward homeless people, we should keep in mind what the Clintons said at the opening of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock on Nov. 18, 2004:
William Jefferson Clinton said in his speech, “We all do better when we work together. Our differences do matter, but our common humanity matters more.”
And Hillary Rodham Clinton added, “There cannot be true democracy unless all citizens are able to participate fully in the lives of their country.”
To be more compassionate and empathetic, it also would serve us well to keep in mind, “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”
