Investigators to make announcement about jeweler’s death

Investigators who have been looking into the 2005 death of Clarence David Boose, a 77-year-old Lecompton man, plan to make an announcement this afternoon.

A press conference to discuss the case has been scheduled for 2 p.m. today by the Douglas County Sheriff’s office and the Douglas County District Attorney’s office.

Authorities have been investigating the death more than a year.

Boose, a retired jeweler and former owner of David’s Jewelers in Topeka, was found dead in his home near Lecompton on April 29, 2005.

After an autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide.
