K-State, bioscience authority coming to Olathe

A satellite campus for Kansas State University, new lab space for bioscience startups and office and technical space in a research park-type environment are in the works for Olathe.

The projects are part of a partnership envisioned on undeveloped land valued at $2.25 million – a 90-acre patch of property to be provided by the city of Olathe in exchange for the developments that would bring investment, jobs, educational opportunities and more to the site adjacent to the Olathe school district’s activities center.

Officials from K-State, the Kansas Bioscience Authority, the city of Olathe and Johnson County government will gather at 1:30 p.m. today at Olathe Northwest High School to discuss the partnership.
