Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza is closing at 4000 W. Sixth St., Suite B, but its store on South Iowa Street will remain open.

Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza is closing one of its two locations in Lawrence.

The three-year-old shop at 4000 W. Sixth St., Suite B, will close at the end of February, the victim of slow sales, operator Ray Cross said.

Papa Murphy’s will continue to sell its prepared-to-order, bake-at-home pizzas at its other store, 2540 Iowa, Suite F. All eight employees from the Sixth Street store are transferring to the southern shop, where the staff will increase from 12 to 20.

Cross said that another, as yet unidentified, retailer would occupy the 1,400 square feet of space being vacated by Papa Murphy’s.

Elsewhere in the shopping strip, Mango Tan is expanding into space previously occupied by The Cup, which closed late last year.

Space previously occupied by Pro Golf remains unoccupied.
