Associate vice provost candidate to visit KU

Katherine Sermersheim, director of student development at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, is the first of three candidates for the position of associate vice provost for Student Success at Kansas University.

The position has been vacant since the abrupt firing of Richard Johnson in April.

Sermersheim will make a presentation in a public forum from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Centennial Room of the Kansas Union.

Sermersheim earned her doctorate in educational administration from SIU in 2002, her master’s degree in student personnel from Western Illinois University in 1991 and her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from SIU in 1989. If selected, she will join Vice Provost Marlesa Roney and Associate Vice Provosts Rich Morrell and Kathryn Nemeth Tuttle, the senior leadership team for Student Success.
