Former Food 4 Less store still available
A group that recently announced plans to convert four Food 4 Less locations in Topeka into Price Chopper stores has no plans for a similar move in Lawrence.
Officials at Associated Wholesale Grocers, of Kansas City, Kan., this week reaffirmed earlier comments that they would not be converting a former Food 4 Less, at 2525 Iowa, into a Price Chopper.
The Food 4 Less in Lawrence closed in December, after suffering for months from dwindling sales. The building has 40,000 square feet available.
AWG last week announced plans to convert four Topeka stores into Price Choppers.
