Hearing on new codes set for Wednesday
A set of new codes that will guide development for years to come is up for preliminary approval by Lawrence-Douglas County Planning commissioners Wednesday night.
Planning commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed Development Code at their 6:35 p.m. meeting at City Hall, Sixth and Massachusetts streets.
The code, which has been in the works for more than five years, would replace the city’s existing zoning code. Planning commissioners will make a recommendation about the soundness of the code, but city commissioners must give final approval to the document.
