The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home burglary south of Lone Star Lake that resulted in a loss of more than $16,000 in property.

A 51-year-old woman told deputies the burglary happened sometime Monday afternoon at her home in the 700 section of North 500 Road. She returned home to find her garage door open and items, including jewelry, stolen from inside the home.
