Members of the Lawrence-Douglas County chapter of the Kansas Equality Coalition will elect officers and board members at 3 p.m. today.
Community members are invited to attend the general membership meeting at Lawrence Public Library's auditorium, 707 Vt. The coalition is a statewide group that is working to end discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
After the business meeting, Lori Messinger, a Kansas University social welfare professor, will present a program on how to effectively communicate with elected representatives. For more information, call Kim Kreicker at 838-4206 or visit the Web site www.kansasequalitycoalition.org.
