Law enforcement report

¢ A 20-year-old Kansas University student told police he answered his doorbell Sunday night in the 3500 block of West 22nd Street to find a woman who told him she had a knife and demanded $20.

The student shut the door and called police. The woman was gone by the time officers arrived, but police did find a kitchen knife in the area.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Someone broke a rear windshield and stole $1,950 in stereo equipment, including a subwoofer and amplifier, from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Brighton Circle. It happened between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Injury accident

¢ Two Lawrence residents were injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident Wednesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 40.

Driver Noel M. Penaford, 32, lost control of a 1995 Ford Mustang while driving east along a curve about four miles east of Tecumseh, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. The car struck a mailbox and road sign and rolled multiple times.

Penaford and his passenger, Misael Cantu, 23, were taken to St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. Both were wearing their seat belts, according to the report. A St. Francis nursing supervisor did not return a call about a condition report.
