Stupid risk

To the editor:

Only a day after a child is killed on Lawrence streets, two teenage boys could have added to the carnage.

I was driving south on Haskell Avenue when three boys with their skateboards got off a public bus. It was 6:30 p.m. and quite dark. One of the teens had the sense to stay on the curb while the other two grabbed onto the back of the bus for a “joy” ride.

Of course the bus driver was totally unaware of your stunt as were the drivers in the cars approaching from the other direction. The only audience you had was your buddy and me. I was not impressed! I didn’t think “how daring those kids are.” I just winced at your youthful stupidity.

You are not invincible or indestructible. You were however almost invisible in the dark when you darted from behind the bus and across a lane of oncoming traffic.

WOW! Two chances, in a matter of seconds, to become road kill.

Please put some value on your life before your luck runs out.
