‘River City Weekly’ takes look back at ’06

Beginning tonight, “River City Weekly” will revisit some of its top stories of 2006.

Among the memorable moments:

¢ Lawrence Journal-World senior editor Bill Snead visited with cancer survivors Julie Cowdin and Debbie Meyer and oncologist Marilee McGinness.

¢ Judge Fred Six discussed the history of his property south of the Wakarusa River.

¢ Global warming was a hot topic among Kansas University professors Joy Ward and David Braaten, and Oscar Kawagley of the Alaska Native Science Commission.

“River City Weekly,” with host Greg Hurd, above, premieres on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays with replays at 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mondays, and 10 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
