Cottonwood earns CARF accreditation
Cottonwood Inc. of Lawrence recently earned a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
The accreditation – the seventh consecutive such designation granted to Cottonwood – covers community living services; community services coordination; personal and social services; community employment services for job development, job supports and job-site training; and organizational employment services.
The designation represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to a rehabilitation organization and confirms Cottonwood’s substantial compliance with commission standards.
To be accredited, Cottonwood worked through a peer-review process and demonstrated to surveyors during an on-site visit that Cottonwood’s programs and services are accountable to maintaining the highest quality.
Cottonwood, based at 2801 W. 31st St. and with another office in Oskaloosa, is a nonprofit organization that provides services for people with developmental disabilities.
