Discovered body case ruled a homicide
A body found near the Franklin-Osage County line has been ruled a homicide, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
Hunters found the body of 47-year-old Tonie Standley, from Osage County, in a pasture along a field entrance in rural Franklin County early Friday morning.
Standley was last seen alive Dec. 7 in Quenemo. Her live-in boyfriend reported her missing Dec. 9.
After a briefing between Franklin and Osage county investigators, and the release of a coroner’s report, the death was ruled a homicide.
Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn said Friday that she couldn’t yet release the cause of death, and that the case was still under investigation by both Osage and Franklin counties.
