Ryun response

To the editor:

In a Lawrence Journal-World article from Monday, Dec. 18, Rep.-elect Nancy Boyda chose to continue her campaign attacks against me. She claimed that my office received “extremely low marks on constituent services,” and since I was not given the courtesy of a reply comment in the article, I would like to take this opportunity to respond.

Throughout my tenure in Congress, constituent services were one of my highest priorities. My dedicated staff worked very hard to address every constituent concern and responded to all inquiries I received in a timely fashion. In the last two years alone, my office worked to resolve over 10,000 constituent cases and answered over 50,000 constituent letters.

I am disappointed that Ms. Boyda has chosen to continue her attacks against me. I had hoped that after the election she would turn her focus to her duties of representing the 2nd District.

It has been a pleasure to serve the people of the 2nd District, and I thank them for giving me that honor.

Rep. Jim Ryun,

Lawrence
