Keeping the peace

To the editor:

Many thanks to the Lawrence Police Department for keeping our downtown safe, to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for keeping the peace in southeast Lawrence, and to the Highway Patrol for patrolling the highways coming into our town. I personally witnessed all three departments working together to keep us safe Thursday night into Friday morning.

Now, if we could just get the government to shut down businesses that profit from a questionable segment of our society.
