Scratch-off ticket worth $10,000
A Lawrence man won a $10,000 prize this week after he bought a Kansas Lottery scratch-off card.
Randal Heim was just a few days away from his 37th birthday Sunday when he played the Cabela’s Cash Doubler game. Heim had just finished working at a Subway sandwich shop when he went to the nearby Kwik Shop, 1714 W. 23rd St., to wait for a ride and buy lottery tickets, according to Kansas Lottery.
Heim said he bought five or six tickets, won a little money, and then bought the winning Cabela’s card.
“I just started yelling, I was so happy,” Heim said.
Heim said he has been playing the lottery for years. His previous big win was $584 playing keno.
