Westbound Kansas Highway 10 was shut down east of Lawrence early Friday night as authorities dealt with a vehicle accident.

The accident happened as the rush hour was under way, shortly before 5 p.m., near the intersection fo East 1750 Road – near East Hills Business Park.

A helicopter had been called to the scene to evacuate a patient.
