Baldwin Junction ? A Greeley woman was treated and released from the hospital after she was injured in a two-vehicle accident early Thursday morning at the Baldwin Junction 10 miles south of Lawrence.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, the injured woman, Sarah Hesse, 30, was driving her 2003 Kia to the south on U.S. Highway 59 when she failed to yield at the four-way stop at 12:49 a.m. and rear-ended a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck that had stopped at the stop sign.

The pickup’s driver, Kendall Kieffaber, 37, Pomona, and passenger, Jeffrey Marconette, 31, Ottawa, possibly suffered injuries, but Lawrence Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Janice Early-Weas said this afternoon that the hospital had no record of admission for either man.

Hesse had been treated and released, Early-Weas said. All three people involved wore seat belts, according to the accident report.

The Kansas Department of Transportation transformed the intersection into a four-way stop in August after receiving complaints from residents and drivers after two fatal accidents happened there this year.
