Pay to stay
To the editor:
Bill Wagnon suggests all-day kindergarten at the taxpayers’ expense, including the senior citizens. I don’t think that’s fair or considerate.
Kindergarten children don’t have the attention span to have a full day of learning. They will be taking naps and potty breaks, etc.
Senior citizens still don’t have a cap on their real estate taxes. How about this for a good idea? Let the parents who need all-day services of kindergarten and baby-sitting pay for these services, just as activity fees are charged for sports. Wouldn’t that be fair that the people who use these services pay for them rather than ask all the taxpayers to pay for the baby-sitting services of a few?
The city wants a new library with a parking lot. The homeless want a new building, not a building that’s no longer in use. Who’s paying for all these wants? Bill Wagnon? The school board? The homeless?
How gracious that these folks can be spending the taxpayers’ money, especially the seniors’ who are living on limited income!
