To the editor:

I was very disappointed with Friday’s article concerning the missed snow. We did not “dodge a bullet.” Eight inches of snow is not a “bullet.” If we missed an ice storm similar to St. Louis, then fine. The fact is, we need moisture and the 8 inches of snow would have considerably helped the dry conditions we currently have.

I believe there are many people in the agricultural sector who would have very much liked to have had that snow countywide. Maybe their conditions should be considered next time the paper decides to let out a big “whew” when we miss a snow event instead of just thinking about people who have to drive down 23rd Street or have to miss a couple days of school.
