Law enforcement report

¢ According to Douglas County Jail records, Lawrence police arrested a 33-year-old man early Saturday morning on charges of sexual battery and aggravated assault. Additional information was not available Saturday night.

Injury accident

¢ A pedestrian and a law enforcement officer were injured early Saturday morning after an accident in Leavenworth.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Nicholas Nordmann, 34, Lansing, was driving a 2004 Ford car north on Broadway Street in Leavenworth with lights and sirens on. A pedestrian, 34-year-old Timothy M. Wright, Easton, “failed to yield, ran out into the street and collided with” the vehicle, the report said.

A supervisor took Nordmann to St. John Hospital in Leavenworth where he was treated and later released. Wright suffered disabling injuries and was taken to Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth and was then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
