A Lawrence man injured in a fatal wreck in icy conditions Wednesday on the Kansas Turnpike remains hospitalized.

Cesar Flores-Espinabarro, 23, was listed in critical condition Thursday at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka. He was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse that went out of control just before 11 a.m. Wednesday near the Topeka interchange, crossed an unbarricaded median and slid sideways into the path of a Chrysler minivan.

His front-seat passenger, Elizabeth Rae Dominguez-Santos, 24, Lawrence, died in the wreck. Five other people went to the hospital with minor injuries.
