Although today is a snow day for Lawrence’s public schools, some activities such as debate, basketball and wrestling will go on as scheduled tonight at Lawrence High School and Free State High School.

That’s because parking lots and sidewalks have been treated and cleared, according to school district officials.

Out-of-town events will be determined on a case-by-case basis after checking with hosting districts and travel conditions.

Student participants should contact their high school for information about specific activities (LHS: 832-5050, Free State: 832-6050).

District officials advise parents to use their discretion regarding their child’s participation.

There have been some cancellations because of the weather:

¢ Today: Free State drama production and Lawrence High’s C-team boys’ basketball game at Wyandotte.

¢ Saturday: Free State Sophomore boys’ and girls’ basketball games.
