J-W seeks essays about 9-11’s effects

Terrorists struck the United States in a series of coordinated attacks five years ago on 9-11.

Since then, the nation has become involved in the Iraq war, and safety measures have increased in parts of the world. Has the day made the nation stronger, or are we more vulnerable? Has it changed how we think and go about our daily lives?

The Journal-World would like readers to share how the terrorist attacks have affected their lives. Please send us an essay of no more than 500 words. The deadline is noon Sept. 5. The essays will be featured in the newspaper, on Sunflower Broadband Channel 6 and on LJWorld.com.

Please include the following information: name, age, address, telephone number and e-mail address.

Entries should be sent by e-mail to Karrey Britt, assistant city editor, at kbritt@ljworld.com. For more information, call Britt at 832-7190.
