Regents pick Emporia president finalists

The Kansas Board of Regents has picked five finalists for the president’s seat at Emporia State University.

The candidates who will be visiting the ESU campus are:

¢ John W. Folkins, Ph.D., provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

¢ Sharon K. Hahs, Ph.D., director of special projects, professor of chemistry, and former provost at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Edwardsville, Ill.

¢ Michael R. Lane, Ph.D., vice chancellor for academic affairs/provost and professor of accounting at University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, Fort Smith, Ark.

¢ Bernie L. Patterson, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs at Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City.

¢ Joseph C. Rallo, Ph.D., provost and academic vice president at Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill.

The candidates will be interviewed in sessions from Sept. 5 to Sept. 15. The search committee then will forward its recommendations to the Regents for final selection.
