Jeff Talmadge, national trainer for Denon Electronics, will explain new DVD technology during a free public seminar from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at Kief’s Audio Video, 2429 Iowa.

Talmadge, who works directly with designers at Denon production operations in Japan, will discuss two competing high-definition DVD technologies – HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD – and the market’s future.

Ed Hawkins, sales manager at Kief’s, said the seminar would be of particular interest to videophiles – “some call them vidiots” – who are preparing to buy into the new technologies.
