A new old bookstore is set to open Sept. 1 in downtown Lawrence.

Artifact Books & Images, a new independent shop, will operate from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily inside Antique Bazaar II, 840 N.H.

Owner Jenifer Harmon said the new shop would stock used and rare books covering a variety of subjects, with a focus on visual and performing arts. The shop also will feature prints and engravings, antique photographs and works by living, local artists.

A search service for books will be available, as will preservation supplies such as protective covers for dustjackets.
