Tough talk

To the editor:

This is about President Bush continuing to talk tough on terror while failing to follow through with appropriate measures. Case in point: Our borders remain porous as before. Dangerous nations such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan continue to enjoy visa-free travel into the United States. U.S. seaports are only marginally safer then before, and Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff is no improvement over former Secretary Tom Ridge.

Back in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Congress continues to be more obsessed with personal pay raises and other perks than with the safety and welfare of their fellow Americans!

Will it take another 9-11 before the president and Congress “wake up and smell the coffee”?

I hope not!
