The running track at Lawrence High School was closed during part of Wednesday as part of its summer maintenance schedule, a school official said.

Matt Brungardt, associate principal, said that the track was closed for about 24 hours for some minor resurfacing work, including patching holes and cracks in the track’s surface.

It was the second time this summer the track was closed, Brungardt said.

Brungardt said that the track should be reopened to the public, and that similar closings happen during the summers while school is not in session.
