Expected triple-digit heat never materialized in Lawrence today, 6News meteorologist Jennifer Schack said this afternoon, causing a heat advisory to be cancelled in the region.

Clouds kept temperatures in the low to mid 90’s. Schack said scattered thunderstorms will continue through the evening, and some may be strong at times. High temperature today will be 94, and an expected low tonight of 70. Two-tenths an inch of rain is possible with locally higher amounts.
