KU excuses

To the editor:

Life is full of lessons. Hopefully, the students coming back to KU for the fall semester are not learning from their administration. But students, if you are, don’t worry about going to class this fall and writing those term papers. If you get failing grades, just tell good ol’ mom and dad that they should look at it as early graduation.

You can always claim the report was flawed since KU would never have accepted you in the first place if you were really that bad. And if mom and dad bring up that ugly word of accountability, make sure you tell them that you will not engage in that kind of nonsense.

Just as easily as any parents can see through these arguments, I hope that the taxpayers and officials of Kansas can see through the smokescreen of excuses being offered for the termination of the National Science Foundation grant at KU.

Instead of looking at it as early graduation, it may be time for some to look at it as early retirement.
