Meetings to focus on lake development

State leaders will conduct public meetings on the potential of developing areas around Clinton and Perry lakes.

The meeting concerning Perry Lake will be at 3 p.m. Aug. 15 at American Legion Post No. 225 at 10114 Old Town Road in Ozawkie.

The meeting concerning Clinton Lake will be at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.

The meetings were called by the Kansas Water Office and Kansas Department of Commerce to focus on a marketplace study released in June.

The study said the Clinton Lake area would be a good place to feature a hotel, resort spa and golf course, while the Perry Lake area could support a spa and more homes.
