KU raises minimum wage for student workers

Kansas University plans to raise the minimum wage for student workers from $6.50 to $7 beginning later this month.

“It could only be helpful,” Ann Hartley, associate director of the University Career Center, said of the increase.

KU receives thousands of applications for the more than 1,400 on-campus jobs available to students, Hartley said.

The increase will begin with the pay period beginning Aug. 13.
