Boutique to offer Hollywood, N.Y. fashions

Talk about a designer boutique.

Epic Apparel is scheduled to open by Aug. 17 at 11 W. Ninth St. in downtown Lawrence, offering a collection of items – $103 Pink Floyd T-shirts, $260 jeans and a $375 “hobo bag in dirty gold” – designed to cater to men and women who want fashions popular in Los Angeles and New York but difficult to find in Lawrence.

Among the store’s brands will be Paige Premium Denim, Ella Moss, Trunk LTD, Juicy Couture, Diesel and True Religion.

What the shop doesn’t stock on site will be available online. In-store kiosks will allow shoppers to browse more than 100 brands at www.shopepic.com, then have the items sent directly to their homes.

The store is the second for Epic Apparel, founded in 2004 by owners Julie and Corey Rau, whose original store is located in Bradley Fair Shopping Center in Wichita.

The Lawrence store takes the space previously occupied by Lawrence Metaphysical Shop, which offers psychic palm tarot card readings and recently relocated to 727 Mass., the former home of Keller Strings, which closed its Lawrence storefront.
