Amusing news

To the editor:

Sometimes the news is good, sometimes it’s bad, sometimes it can be funnier than the comics. Saturday’s paper had several stories that elicited chuckles around the family breakfast table. The first was the news of four members of a white-supremacist prison gang sent to prison. No surprise (weren’t they already there?), but their names were Barry “The Baron” Mills, Tyler “The Hulk” Bingham, Edgar “The Snail” Hevle and Christopher Overton Gibson. My son’s question was why did they let him in. My wife mused that his nickname might be “The Toff.”

Then, on the same page, there was the news of the illegal alien border guard convicted of smuggling illegal aliens. Our tax dollars at work. How good is that?

Our morning was complete with the news that Reader’s Digest says New York is “the world’s most polite city.”

Over the top. Thanks.

Doug Burger,
