Topeka ? Nick Burkart shot 72 and placed second, leading the Free State High boys golf squad to an 11th-place finish Monday at a tournament at Topeka Country Club hosted by Topeka West. The Firebirds earned at team score of 330.

Levi Oxford shot 85 and was the top Lawrence High finisher. LHS placed 18th in the 23-team field, scoring 367.

LHS will travel Friday to an event at Hutchinson; Free State travels Monday to the Shawnee Mission East Invitational.
