Turnpike work will close Douglas County road
Work on the Kansas Turnpike west of Lawrence will cause the temporary closing on Monday of a Douglas County road.
East 500 Road under the turnpike about 3 miles southwest of Lecompton will be closed until late Friday. The closure is to allow the setting of new beams for turnpike bridges over the road.
The bridge work is part of a continuing widening project along the turnpike.
