Cancer care
To the editor:
According to Donna Shank, chairwoman of the Kansas Board of Regents, Kansas University’s plan (which requires money, of course) to establish “a comprehensive cancer center” “will extend state-of-the-art cancer care to generations of Kansans” (Journal-World, April 18). This implies that Kansans cannot obtain such care now. According to a Lawrence Memorial Hospital ad, “The Oncology Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital offers you everything you’d expect in a world-class cancer center” (Journal-World, April 17).
There is a rather interesting disagreement here. I doubt the doctors at the Oncology Center are wrong.
