Congress slackers

To the editor:

This is about a lack of leadership, laxity and ineptitude on the part of the U.S. Congress last Friday as both parties failed to “come together” on a comprehensive immigration bill.

While the Democrats and Republicans blamed each other for the failure, the facts are what they are. That is, the U.S. Congress, during President Bush’s tenure, has the worst congressional voting record in recent American history.

Only the 1948 Congress, during President Truman’s presidency, even approached the inefficiency and lack of work ethics displayed by this band of “congressional slackers.”

Americans deserve hardworking men and women in Congress who will do what they say they will do and who will keep their fingers out of the “corporate pie”!
