Topeka There will be no budget amendment from Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to pay for repairs at Kansas University from the March 12 storm.
But Sebelius' budget director Duane Goossen said any costs to the state could be handled after the session.
"Once the final numbers are figured out and we know what insurance will pay for and what the federal government might pay for, it could be handled through the State Finance Council," Goossen said.
The council is chaired by Sebelius and includes legislative leaders. The Legislature returns April 26 for its wrap-up session, and Sebelius released her budget amendments Tuesday.
The storm that roared through the Lawrence campus last month left approximately $6 million in damage.

I hope Sebelius does not forget her promise to help pay for the damage. Although I do think she has been a good friend to the university.
