To the editor:

Many thanks to the Kansas University men’s and women’s basketball teams for an exciting and very entertaining season. Winters are tough in the ol’ Big Eight, and KU basketball helps get us through.

We here are among the many thousands of true blue Jayhawk fans, in that we support them through thick and thin. We are not fickle and we are not critics. We are boosters, cheerleaders and nurturers. We raise them up and never tear them down.

We true blue KU fans are avid Jayhawk fans for life. We will miss the senior student athletes very much, as we will all surely miss our beloved Max.

Our early, consecutive outs in the Big Dance are payback for the very rare feat of back-to-back Final Fours in ’02 and ’03. We have paid our dues and can look forward to next season. We say, “there’s always next year,” just like farmers, Royals and Chiefs fans do. We are eternal optimists.
