Fort commander to discuss Iraq invasion

The first commander of the Multinational Security Transition Command in Iraq and former commander of the 101st Airborne Division’s “Screaming Eagles” will discuss the invasion and postwar occupation at 8 p.m. April 17 at Kansas University’s Dole Institute of Politics.

Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus assumed command of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth in October 2005 following his deployment in Iraq, which also included the command of the NATO Training Mission from October 2004 to September 2005. His lecture is titled “Observations from Soldiering in Iraq.”
