Inconsistencies

To the editor:

It took six years to pass a law in Kansas requiring booster car seats for young kids. Still, 31 legislators voted against this measure, despite overwhelming evidence that it saves lives. Their reason? Purportedly because the law was an unwelcome infringement on the rights of families. Yet how many of those 31 legislators voted to infringe on the rights of Kansans by banning gay marriage?

That, however, isn’t the only hypocrisy. How many of those 31 legislators consider themselves “pro-life” when it comes to protecting the unborn? Yet they voted “no” to protecting the lives of children ages 4-9.

No wonder voters don’t take politicians seriously anymore.
