Vaccine hazard

To the editor:

As we head toward winter, be prepared for the media barrage promoting flu vaccines. If I was not so well versed in vaccine information, I would have a difficult time understanding the recommendation for small children and pregnant women to receive the flu shot containing mercury.

The American Academy of Pediatrics policy statement published in “Pediatrics,” July 2001, says, “Mercury in all of its forms is toxic to the fetus and children, and efforts should be made to reduce exposure to the extent possible to pregnant women and children as well as the general population.”

According to my son’s team of MD’s, he has heavy metal toxicity due to the mercury-containing RhoGAM shot I received during my 28th week of pregnancy and his thimerosal-containing childhood vaccines. His endocrinologist is treating him for an array of medical issues caused by mercury exposure, including pituitary and endocrine dysfunction, hypothyroidism, low growth hormone, metabolism disorder, hyperinsulinemia and hyperlipidemia.

Please inform patients of the mercury content in vaccines so they can make an informed decision on vaccines. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease they intend to prevent.
