Del Monte Foods’ Lawrence plant employees have donated eight truckloads of Kibbles ‘n Bits to an animal society in Mississippi.

The 760 cases of dog food went to feed dogs displaced and abandoned because of Hurricane Katrina.

The donation went to the Best Friends Animal Society in Mississippi.

“Our employees wanted to help, and this was a way for us to do that,” plant manager Rob Marshall said.

“Our employees really went beyond the call of duty.”
