Chiropractor treats homeless for free

Richard Gwin/Journal World-Photo Lawrence Chiropractor Phillip Hart, donated his time Wednesday afternoon at the Community Drop In Center, as he did some free adjustments to anyone who needed one.

A local chiropractor spent Wednesday evening popping backs at a local homeless shelter.

“Everyone deserves some type of health care, whether you can afford it or not,” said the chiropractor, Phillip Hart, pictured above, who provided the free service at Lawrence Community Shelter, 214 W. 10th St.

Hart had provided the service once previously this summer. At least 10 people signed up for an “adjustment” on Wednesday night.

“He just worked me over, and he told me I was a wreck. Of course, I knew that,” said Robin, a 52-year-old homeless man who declined to give his last name.
